NEDonBoard has played a key role in helping hundreds of professionals along their journey at board level. Here’s what they think about the programme:
"I really appreciated the grounding in the basics combined with the personal experience of a diverse group of directors, all within one easily accessible programme. I’d say take the programme while you’re still deciding whether to go for NED roles. Take it again as you start applying. And keep referring back to the modules once you’re on a Board."
David Landsman, Chair, NED and Adviser. Previously senior Executive and British Ambassador
"This programme is perfect for aspiring NEDs and a good refresher for the more experienced. There is a good mix of legal, practice and experience based advice. An interesting package of modular learning and insightful videos."
Nicky Heathcote, portfolio NED and former Chief of Staff
"Very useful content covering a wide range of topics which are both useful and thought provoking. This course is really effective for those aspiring to their first NED role."
Graeme Allinson, trustee, former Head of Client Satisfaction

The programme is well structured and comprehensive, it gives you all the resources required to get to the boardroom. It is uniquely designed to combine fundamental governance knowledge with experience-based tips and strategies, you’ll be able to kick-start your career."
Malcolm Weston, Trustee, Chair of Governors and Experienced Project Manager
"NEDonBoard has targeted that niche of the board industry, which needed most attention - The non executive directorship. NEDonBoard is doing a service by educating and building a knowledge sharing platform for the non executive director."
Hajara Al Amodi, Investor, Advisor, Technologist and International Board Director
"Recruiting non-executive directors is a challenging task for boards – there’s a lot of choice. It's a given that NEDs need to have the right skill set, knowledge and experience, particularly for the more technical board matters such as audit and risk. Beyond that it's about chemistry and perceived fit with the rest of the board, which require a high degree of targeted preparation and emotional intelligence to be utilised through the recruitment process.
This programme prepares already proven business leaders to secure and perform future NED roles with confidence. The combination of technical content - governance codes, legal responsibilities and protections - combined with a wealth of practical advice from a range of experienced NEDs, will make participants stand out from the competition."
Michael Bartholomeusz, portfolio NED, chair and former Chief Risk Officer
"A good CV shows that you’re ready to become a NED – but understanding what it takes to be truly prepared for your first role is difficult.
I can fully recommend the NED Accelerator Programme; it’s a one-stop source to help you transition from an operating exec to an effective non-executive director. It doesn’t just cover the dry textbook responsibilities, but also gives you practical and relevant content, and helps you avoid the pitfalls many fall into as you transition into non exec roles
As a result, you’ll be able to create a high-impact CV, be clear on what’s expected from you, and what your obligations are It will not only help you will win interviews and new roles, it sets you up for success."
Sonia Whiteley-Guest, Chief Marketing Officer, Founder, CEO and aspiring NED

The course may also be beneficial to recently appointed NEDs who have not completed board training prior to their appointment and who intend to build a portfolio of roles.
If you are already a portfolio non-executive director, then this is not a relevant development course for you. E-mail us at [email protected] to explore how NEDonBoard can support your professional development needs and help you secure NED roles.
What is included in the price?

Can I get my company or employer to pay for the programme?
This will depend on the individual company. Can I find all of this information online for free?
In theory, you could locate some (but not all) of this information online, but it would be incredibly time-consuming, and content wouldn’t be delivered in a structured, concise and digestible way. It may also be challenging for you to distinguish great advice from deceit. Insights from experienced NEDs on their journey to non-executive directorship is also not publicly available.
Most of the recommendations and practical guidance we provide are based on our experience as the UK professional body for non-executive directors and board members, along with the direct experience of our successful members. Quality content in this format cannot be found online for free.
We invested roughly £300,000 in putting together the NED Accelerator Programme.
